About Us
My story began with a highschool elective. I thought metalworking would be an easy credit, but the class was full and I was placed in the jewellery making class by default instead. I never expected to enjoy creating jewellery quite so much. I worked in hospitality during highschool and afterwards found myself in a whisky bar, winning multiple awards and becoming one of the top whisky bartenders in Australia. One of the prizes for winning "Masters of Whisky" (alongside an all expenses paid trip to Scotland) was an experience at a local silversmith. They wanted me to feel what it was to hand craft something as the whisky in question was hand crafted using traditional methods. This experience at the silversmith reignited the passion for crafting and designing jewellery that I had forgotten. I have always had an eye for design, a taste for luxury, and the compulsion to collect sparkly things like a crow. I started Garrett Ray Jewellery to explore this passion and explore my creative side while crafting beautiful things.
Every piece is designed in house, and made in Australia, beginning at the humble dining table turned workbench in our home studio. Many of the items listed are one of a kind, never to be reproduced or found anywhere else.
All of our jewellery is made of solid precious metals. No plating or "filling" is performed on the pieces, and none of the pieces are hollow. This ensures quality and longevity of the jewellery and your investment.
As items are made to order and not mass produced, if the piece is not available at the time of order please allow 3-4 weeks for the item to be crafted.
Garrett Ray Jewellery exclusively uses precious metals sourced from ABC Refineries, Australia’s only independent LBMA, SGE and COMEX accredited refinery supported by Australia’s only NATA, IEC, SA and ILAC accredited refining laboratory. Ensuring sustainable practices, transparency in the supply line, and ethical human rights practices.
All of our precious metals can be traced back to the primary source, Australia.
